Exterior cleaning FAQ

Everything homeowners in Spring Hill, Franklin, Columbia and across Middle Tennessee ask us most — pricing, safety, timing and how long results last.

Pricing & scheduling

What projects cost in Middle Tennessee and how quickly we can get to you.

How much does house washing cost?+

Most single-story homes in Spring Hill, Franklin, and Columbia land between $275 and $425. Two-story homes with larger footprints typically run $400 to $650. Every quote is flat, itemized, and confirmed before we start — no hourly surprises. More on house washing

How much does a driveway cleaning cost?+

A standard two-car concrete driveway usually falls between $175 and $300 depending on square footage, staining, and whether walkways and porches are added. Exposed aggregate takes longer and is quoted separately. More on concrete cleaning

Do you charge for estimates?+

No. Estimates are free. Most quotes are returned the same day from photos and property details; larger or unusual projects get an on-site walkthrough.

How soon can you schedule?+

We're typically on site within three to seven days, weather permitting. Sealing projects need a dry window, so those are scheduled around the forecast.

Do I need to be home during service?+

No. With water access and any gate codes, most services are completed while you're at work. We send before-and-after photos when we finish.

Safety & your property

What we do to make sure nothing is left worse than we found it.

Is pressure washing safe for my siding?+

High pressure is not — it can force water behind siding and strip paint. That's why we soft wash siding at roughly garden-hose pressure and let professional cleaning solutions do the work. It's the method siding manufacturers recommend. More on house washing

Does roof washing damage shingles?+

Not the way we do it. We apply a zero-pressure soft wash that kills the algae at the root without dislodging granules. Pressure washing a roof is what damages shingles and voids manufacturer warranties. More on roof washing

What's the difference between pressure washing and soft washing?+

Pressure washing removes dirt with force and is right for hard surfaces like concrete and pavers. Soft washing uses low pressure plus a cleaning solution and is right for anything delicate — siding, roofs, wood, and painted trim. Most homes need both, on different surfaces.

Is it safe for plants, pets, and landscaping?+

Yes. We pre-saturate beds, cover sensitive plantings, use biodegradable solutions, and rinse everything thoroughly afterward. Pets should stay indoors while we work, then it's back to normal.

Are you licensed and insured?+

Yes — Clear Cut Exterior Cleaning is fully licensed and insured, and a certificate of insurance is available on request.

How often & when

Timing that works for Tennessee humidity, pollen, and freeze-thaw cycles.

How often should windows be cleaned?+

Twice a year keeps glass consistently clear. If you only do it once, spring — after pollen season ends — gives you the longest stretch of clean windows. More on window cleaning

How often should a home be washed?+

Every 12 to 18 months for most Middle Tennessee homes. Shaded, tree-heavy lots grow algae faster and usually benefit from an annual wash. More on house washing

When is the best time to seal an exposed aggregate driveway?+

Late spring through early fall, when you can count on 24 to 48 dry hours and surface temperatures between about 50°F and 90°F. Sealing before winter also helps the slab resist freeze-thaw damage and de-icing salts. More on aggregate cleaning & sealing

How long does concrete sealer last?+

On a Tennessee driveway, two to three years for high-traffic areas and three to five for patios and pool decks. Sun exposure, tire traffic, and how the surface was prepped all affect it — which is why we clean thoroughly before any sealer goes down. More on concrete cleaning

How often should gutters be cleaned?+

Twice a year for tree-lined lots, once a year for open properties. Late fall after leaf drop is the most important pass. Gutter service is included with our house washing. More on house washing

Results & aftercare

What to expect once we're finished, and what keeps results lasting.

Why do my windows spot after it rains?+

Rain picks up dissolved minerals and pollutants off the roof, gutters, and screens, then evaporates on the glass and leaves the residue behind. Cleaning the frames, screens, and tracks — not just the glass — cuts spotting dramatically, and pure-water cleaning leaves no soap film for spots to cling to. More on window cleaning

Will you remove every stain?+

Most of them. Organic growth, algae, and mildew come off completely. Deeply cured oil, rust, and battery-acid staining often lighten significantly rather than disappear — we'll tell you honestly at the walkthrough which category yours falls into.

How long do results last?+

A house wash typically holds 12 to 18 months, a roof wash three to five years, and sealed concrete two to five years. Shade, tree cover, and drainage are the biggest variables.

What if I'm not happy with the result?+

We come back. We don't consider a job finished until you've walked the property with us and it meets our standard and yours.
